John Paul 88 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Born to his loving parents Giovanni Corona and Maddalena Salerno Corona June 29, 1928 in Queens, New York. Beloved husband of Louise Policastro Corona of 61 years. Devoted father of Madeline “Daniel” Good and Michael “Lillian” Corona. Cherished Grandfather of Charles “Cathy,” Thomas “Rechel,” Nicole and Danielle “Melvin.” And Great Grandfather of Sophia. Dearest brother of The late Connie, The Late Mary, The late Frances and The late Jack. Mr. Corona was a resident of South Florida since 1977 formerly of West Hempstead, Long Island, New York. He worked as circulation manager for the Long Island News Day for 20 years. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed bowling. He was in the semi pro bowling league in the late 1950’s and the late 1960’s. He has many bowling trophies and bowled a perfect game one time. He liked his New York Mets. He enjoyed reading and playing computer games. He was on the board of directors in his condo association in Century Village. He was very social and was a friend to many. Reposing Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Joseph A. Scarano Presidential Circle Memorial Chapel 4351 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood Hills 33021 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:15 P.M. Chapel Funeral Service 12:15 P.M. with internment following at the South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. U.S. Army Honor Guards service at 2:15 P.M.
