John J. Martel 92, of Davie passed away Monday January 22, 2018 in Davie, Florida. Born April 11, 1925 in Yonkers, New York. Beloved husband of the late Marie who passed away in 2014. Married for 65 years. Devoted father of John "Channary", Late son Richard "Karen" and Donna "Sam" Simpkin. Cherished grandfather of Mary, Steven, Richard, David, Abby, Hannah, Christopher, & Jack. Great Grandfather to Rhiannon & Avril. Dearest brother to his pre deceased brothers Joseph & Armand. Moved to Florida in 1968 from Stamford, CT, worked as a chief accountant as S FL State hospital, he enjoyed watching baseball, football and watching Jack play soccer & enjoyed watching Abby & Hannah perform & spending time with all his grandchildren & listening to big band music especially Frank Sinatra, Rat Pat, swing music, Tommy Dorsey, enjoyed Glen Miller Orchestra at Parker Play House in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In Repose Thursday January 25, 2018 from 2 P.M. - 6:30 P.M. with a 5 P.M. chapel Funeral Service. Cremation to follow. Arrangements by Joseph A.
