LaVerne "Pat" Muter

LaVerne Rose “Pat” Muter, 89, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 in Hollywood, Florida.

She leaves behind her son, Gary Muter and her three daughters, Sandra Felton, Connie Amenta and Teresa Salafrio. Pat and Ivan are blessed with 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Pat was born in Bellevue, Kentucky and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of William and Viola Kinzel with one sister, Violet Donnellon. In her early years she attended St. Xavier High School. After high school she attended a business college for bookkeeping. She met her husband at Kroger’s Grocery Store where she worked as a bookkeeper and he worked to pay for college. Pat and Ivan were married in 1948 at Nativity Catholic Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 1956, Pat and Ivan moved to Hollywood, Florida. Pat was dedicated to her family, friends, and to her church. She was a member of the St. Bartholomew Women’s Club for many years and later became president. She also sang in the choir. After moving to Davie, Florida, Pat and Ivan became members of St. Bonaventure Church where she was a member of the Rosary Guild, packaging thousands of rosaries to be sent to the sick at local hospitals and missions around the world. She loved the rosary and prayed many rosaries each day for family members and anyone in need.

Pat was a loving wife and enjoyed spending time with her family. Pat’s family especially loved her homemade applesauce and her delicious meatloaf made with love. She was the matriarch of the family and her husband, Ivan, was the love of her life. In passing, she is happily reunited with Ivan and will continue to watch over her family from heaven.
