With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sergio “Nosa” Espinoza, who closed his eyes on June 25. He was a devoted and loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, and a proud detective for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Sergio was born with a natural sense of duty and compassion. From the moment he joined the force in 2018, it was clear that he had found his calling. His dedication and integrity quickly led him to rise through the ranks and become a detective—a role he served with pride, courage, and humility. Giving back to his community wasn’t just a job for Sergio, it was a passion.He Is survived by his loving mother, Janet Espinoza; his father, Sergio Espinoza II; his siblings Michelle, Johanne, Nicky, and Toniann; uncles, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory. Sergio’s presence lit up every room, and his loyalty and love left an indelible mark on all who knew him.“Nosa” was more than just a nickname, it was a symbol of the strength, humor, and heart that defined who he was. His absence leaves a profound void in the lives of his loved ones and the community he served so selflessly. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. In Repose Wednesday July 2, 2025 from 12:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. at the Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service Thursday July 3, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, burial to follow at Forest Lawn South Cemetery in Davie, Florida.
