Mr. Hector Romero passed on July 24, 2025 at the age of 91.

Hector is survived by his wife Blanca and children Hector & Blanca.

Hector was born on July 2,1934 in Havana, Cuba to Mercedes & Evelio. He married Blanca on May 5, 1962. Soon after they had their daughter Blanca and two years later, their son Hector. Their children blessed them with 3 beautiful grandchildren, Joseph, Mia Rose and Jordan. He left Cuba with his wife and children in 1970 via Spain as many Cubans did in that era in order to start a new life. They resided in Spain for two years before being able to enter the USA. The family lived in New Jersey for 14 years and relocated to Miami Florida in 1986.

His children remember him as a father who always fought to get his family ahead in life.

He was passionate about baseball. He played the sport in Cuba and worked as an umpire while he lived in Spain. He never played professionally in the USA only recreationally. He was an avid Yankees & Marlins fan.

Hector loved the beach and traveling. He and his wife traveled all over the world before and after retirement. Together they went on over 130 cruises all over the world.

Hector worked as an x-ray technician from the young age of 16 in Cuba. He worked his entire life in that profession. When he arrived in the USA he successfully passed the x-ray technician exam in english even though he did not speak the language until he came to the USA.

A memorial is scheduled for August 10th from 12pm-3pm. It will be a small gathering to remember Hector and support his wife.
