Life Story for Dr. Perla Abadam Taday

Perla Abadam Taday of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was 85 years of age. Perla, the eldest of two children, was fondly called “Baby” by family and loved ones. She was born on June 14, 1940 in Manila, Philippines to educators Eulalio Abadam and Placida de los Santos Abadam.

Perla graduated from Far Eastern University in Manila with a degree in Doctor of Medicine. She became the Assistant Vice President of the Medical Operations Department of the Social Security System in the Philippines before retiring.

In November 2002, she came to the United States with late husband Romeo Burce Taday.

She enjoyed playing the piano and had a talent for sketching women in fashion. She also had a knack for DIY crafting and clothing design. She kept a collection of bells and dolls from different countries. She developed an interest in jewelry and gemstones that she even took a short course in jewelry appraising. She loved anything Disney, both the animation and the music.

Her European trip in 1996 was such a memorable one because she was able to do the Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Lourdes in France. She was also a longtime devotee of Saint Anthony of Padua which is also the reason why she often wore the color brown.

Perla is survived by her Children, Heloisa, Helene, Rommel and Heidi. Well-loved by her Grandchildren, Norkael and Hannah Lim Dy, Janelle Constantino Reidy and Jaymie Constantino, Roel Elijah and Gabrielle Taday, and Hailie and Helizze Gutierrez.

Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, Funeral Mass Saturday August 9, 2025 at 12 P.M. at St. John XXIII Catholic Church, 16800 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, Florida, cremation to follow.
