Alicia Soto Obituary

In Loving Memory of Alicia Soto

Sunrise: January 3, 1933 – Sunset: August 15, 2024

It is with both sorrow and reverence that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Alicia Soto, on August 15, 2024—a date imbued with spiritual meaning and divine timing. Known for her quiet strength, deep warmth, and unwavering love, she was the gentle heart of our family and a guiding light to all who knew her.

She was not just a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was our grandmother, our mother, and our family’s source of comfort and care. Her life was a reflection of compassion, humility, and the sacred art of listening with love.

Even in her later years, as dementia began to cloud her memory, her essence remained present. In a smile, in a soft gesture, in a glance that said “I see you”—she reminded us that love transcends words, and presence is its own form of communication.

Her transition on the Feast of the Assumption—a day that holds profound significance in many faiths—felt less like an ending and more like a divine ascension. It was as if the heavens opened and gently called her home.

Let us pause for a moment on the meaning of the date she passed: 8/15/2024.

In numerology:

8 signifies strength, infinity, and spiritual continuity.

1 symbolizes new beginnings and unity of the soul’s journey.

5 represents change, transformation, and liberation.

When these numbers are added together—8 + 1 + 5—they equal 14, and 1 + 4 = 5 again. That final 5 is a symbol of spiritual release. Her journey reminds us that when the soul is ready, it transitions freely, peacefully, and with grace. The universe seemed to affirm that this was her time to be lifted into light.

She now joins her beloved husband, Jose Arles, in eternal rest. Their love story—one of devotion, loyalty, and resilience—continues in the spiritual realm.

Though her physical presence has departed, her spirit remains rooted in all of us—in our memories, our laughter, our values, and in the traditions we carry forward. Her love lives on in every generation she nurtured.

To honor her is not just to grieve, but to live in the ways she taught us:

To show up for each other.

To love without condition.

To live with quiet purpose.

To speak softly, but with truth.

To hold space for healing, family, and forgiveness.

Her life reminds us that the most meaningful legacy is not written in grand gestures, but in the little acts of love we give, day by day.

We will always love you and miss you—your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren. You will live on forever in our hearts.
