Andre Patrick Leroy Obituary

Patrick André Leroy was born at Justillen Hospital in Cap-Haïtien, where he also spent his childhood. He received his early education with the Frères du Cap and pursued his secondary studies from 7th grade through Rhetoric. After completing his classical education, he went on to study Philosophy at Lycée Philippe Guerrier.


Patrick began his professional career at Haitian Tractor, where he worked from 1977 to 1980. He then joined Électricité d’Haïti, serving from 1980 until December 1985, when he left the country to continue his journey in the United States. Shortly afterward, he pursued advanced studies in Mechanical Engineering in Canada, before moving to New York, where he lived until 1995.


He was the proud father of five children: Martine Leroy Godghum, Ricardo Leroy, Gabriel Leroy, Elizabeth Leroy, and Grace Leroy. Patrick was also blessed with four grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.


Patrick came from a large and loving family. He is survived by his thirteen brothers and sisters:

In 1995, Patrick settled in Miami, which became his permanent home. In October 1996, he met Nicole Kemp, the woman who would become the love of his life. On April 5, 2002, they were married, and together they built a life filled with love, companionship, and devotion that lasted until his passing.


Patrick André Leroy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and loyal friend. His legacy lives on in the lives of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Patrick André Leroy est né à l’Hôpital Justillen du Cap-Haïtien, où il passa également son enfance. Il fit ses premières études chez les Frères du Cap puis poursuivit son cycle secondaire de la 7ᵉ à la Rhétorique. Après l’obtention de son diplôme classique, il étudia la Philosophie au Lycée Philippe Guerrier.


Patrick débuta sa carrière professionnelle à Haitian Tractor, où il travailla de 1977 à 1980. Il rejoignit ensuite Électricité d’Haïti, où il servit de 1980 jusqu’en décembre 1985, année où il quitta le pays pour poursuivre son parcours à l’étranger. Peu après, il poursuivit des études supérieures en Génie Mécanique au Canada, avant de s’installer à New York, où il vécut jusqu’en 1995.


Il était le fier père de cinq enfants : Martine Leroy Godghum, Ricardo Leroy, Gabriel Leroy, Elizabeth Leroy et Grace Leroy. Patrick était également comblé par la présence de quatre petits-enfants qui firent son bonheur et sa fierté.

En 1995, Patrick s’établit à Miami, qui devint sa demeure définitive. En octobre 1996, il rencontra Nicole Kemp, la femme qui allait devenir l’amour de sa vie. Le 5 avril 2002, ils s’unirent par les liens du mariage et construisirent ensemble une vie empreinte d’amour, de complicité et de dévouement, jusqu’à son départ.


Patrick André Leroy restera dans les mémoires comme un époux aimant, un père dévoué, un frère chéri et un ami fidèle. Son héritage demeure vivant dans le cœur de sa famille et de tous ceux qui ont eu le privilège de le connaître.
