Louise Frances Hagberg, “Lily,” peacefully passed from this life on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Louise was born in Shanghai, China to Edward Luebbert, a U.S. Army Pharmacist, and Mary Missura Luebbert, on July 16, 1927. Her family then settled in the Philippines where she lived until her mother was killed during World War II. She, her sister, Mary, and her brother, Edward, were rescued and brought to the United States to be reunited with their father.
Louise’s family resettled in upstate New York. During a vacation to Miami Beach, she met her beloved husband, Newell (Gig) Hagberg. They married and spent 59 wonderful years together until his passing in 2013.
Louise was a kind and gentle soul who loved every living thing she ever encountered. She had many talents and interests, like crocheting, sewing, cooking, and caring lovingly for her many plants and animals. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her family; going out to dinner and their many memorable trips to Disney World. One of her proudest achievements was providing the most wonderful and beautiful Christmases for her family every year.
Louise is survived by her loving daughter Alison Beckler and son-in-law Keith, her loving granddaughter, Shannon Blair and her husband Jacob, and cherished great-grandchildren, Peyton and Jackson. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Reeder. Louise was the most patient, loving, and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She passed on a love to her family that will be unmatched. She will always be in our hearts.
Private Cremation. Please keep the Hagberg family in your thoughts and prayers. The Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel is Honored to assist the Hagberg family with the arrangements.
