It’s hard to choose just one memory, because there are so many from all the years we shared. From the first time we met you at the hibachi in Daytona, to our Thanksgivings together.. when you always made sure to let me take a picture of the turkey because you knew it meant something to me. I think of our trips across the USA and Europe, where you fell in love with babà and tramezzini, and of our last Christmas together. I can still hear you saying “mamma mia” just to make me smile.
But the memory that stays with me most is our last goodbye in February, when you held me tightly and said, “You never stay enough, come back soon.” I just didn’t know that would be the last time.
Ora il tuo soffrire è finito, e so che ci guardi tutti dal paradiso con il tuo bellissimo sorriso.
Riposa in pace, Adriana mia. È arrivato il momento più brutto: dirci il nostro ultimo “ciao”.
Ti voglio bene, sempre.
