Thomas M. Conner, age 80, (Tom or Tommy) of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, passed away at home after a brief illness. Tommy was born Feb 15, 1945, in Cranston, RI, to Thomas and Marion Conner. He graduated from Providence College in 1967. After college Tommy joined the Army and received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Korea. Following an honorable discharge from the Army he was employed by the Players Corner Pub in Providence before relocating to Hollywood, Fl. Tommy was the consummate bartender with a smile, a story, or even a limerick. In his later years he drove a taxicab until he retired.
He is survived by his sister, Katherine Conner of California, nieces and nephew Shannon Zinter of Virginia, Robert Conner Jr. of Connecticut, and Amie Bergin of California. He is predeceased by his brother Robert and parents Thomas and Marion.
