Demetrio Ernesto Bravo Valenzuela, 88, of Puente Piedra, Lima, Peru, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, in his home, surrounded by loved ones.

Demetrio was born on December 22nd, 1936, in Puente Piedra, Lima, Peru, to the late Alejandro Bravo and Isabel Valenzuela. He grew up in Puente Piedra, raised mostly by his grandmother Elena. He went on to serve in the Peruvian Navy, where he stood out as a helicopter mechanic, receiving several recognitions and awards. On July 4th, 1980, seeking the best future for his family, he would make the journey to Florida. With the grace of God and his unstoppable work ethic he would find work at Miami Helicopter, again standing out as a prominent helicopter mechanic, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and business owners at Opa Locka Airport. He eventually joined the Miami-Dade Police Department Aviation Unit, where he was promoted to Supervisor and would later retire. The life he created for himself, his children, and family whom he always made his priority, was the accomplishment he always strived for.

He will be dearly remembered for his love and dedication to his family, sense of humor, honesty, responsibility, fairness, generosity, mechanical abilities, and willingness to help others.

Demetrio is survived by his sons, Victor and Ernesto, daughter Rocio, daughters-in-law, Vilma and Yenny, grandchildren Allan, Adrian, Aaron, Jennifer, Jonathan, Mitchell, Emma, and Samantha, great-grandchild Allison, sisters Consuelo, Mercedes and Amelia, and a host of cousins, brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces, and preceded in death by his wife and love of his life, Guillermina. The family would like to thank Doris Chirino for her dedication in his caring during his last few months with us.

A funeral will be held on December 22nd, 2025, at Scarano Funeral Home at 9000 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on December 23rd, 2025, at St. Boniface Catholic Parish, 8330 Johnson St, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, at 11:00 am, followed by his burial at Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014. Friends and family are invited to attend and share memories.

Demetrio Ernesto Bravo Valenzuela, de 88 años, de Puente Piedra, Lima, Perú, falleció pacíficamente el 4 de diciembre de 2025, en su hogar, rodeado de sus seres queridos.

Demetrio nació el 22 de diciembre de 1936 en Puente Piedra, Lima, Perú, hijo de Alejandro Bravo e Isabel Valenzuela. Creció en Puente Piedra, criado en su mayoría por su abuela Elena. Sirvió en la Marina de Guerra del Perú, donde destacó como mecánico de helicópteros, recibiendo varios reconocimientos y premios. El 4 de julio de 1980, buscando un mejor futuro para su familia, emprendió el viaje a Florida. Con la gracia de Dios y su imparable ética de trabajo, encontró empleo en Miami Helicopter, destacándose nuevamente como un mecánico de helicópteros sobresaliente, ganándose el respeto y la admiración de sus colegas y de los dueños de negocios en el Aeropuerto de Opa Locka. Eventualmente se unió a la Unidad de Aviación del Departamento de Policía de Miami-Dade, donde fue ascendido a Supervisor y luego se retiró. La vida que creó para sí mismo, sus hijos y la familia que siempre puso como prioridad, fue el logro por el que siempre trabajó.

Será recordado con cariño por su amor y dedicación a su familia, su sentido del humor, honestidad, responsabilidad, justicia, generosidad, habilidades mecánicas y disposición para ayudar a los demás.

A Demetrio le sobreviven sus hijos, Víctor y Ernesto, su hija Rocío, sus nueras Vilma y Yenny, sus nietos Allan, Adrián, Aaron, Jennifer, Jonathan, Mitchell, Emma y Samantha, su bisnieta Allison, sus hermanas Consuelo, Mercedes y Amelia, y una gran cantidad de primos, cuñados, sobrinos y sobrinas. Le precedió en la muerte su esposa y amor de su vida, Guillermina. La familia desea agradecer a Doris Chirino por su dedicación en su cuidado durante sus últimos meses con nosotros.

El funeral se llevará a cabo el 22 de diciembre de 2025, en Scarano Funeral Home, en 9000 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, de 2:00 p. m. a 9:00 p. m. Los servicios fúnebres se realizarán el 23 de diciembre de 2025 en St. Boniface Catholic Parish, 8330 Johnson St, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024, a las 11:00 a. m., seguido de su entierro en Vista Memorial Gardens, 14200 NW 57th Ave, Miami Lakes, FL 33014.
