Joseph Edward Roppo was born in Blue Island, Illinois on August 31, 1963. He and his family moved to Florida a few years later and remained there. Joe was a graduate of Chaminade High School and St. Louis University. Joe worked in radio and marketing for quite some time, but for the last 30+ years of his life, he worked as a disc, jockey entertaining so many people. He was brilliant at it and always made those around him happy with his music. He also loved sports, especially the Chicago Cubs. He also did volunteer and charitable work for his beloved parish, Saint Maurice, the Church of the Stable, and Saint Maurice at Resurrection. He was a wonderful husband to Nina, father to Jessica, and grandfather to Draco and Zelon. He was also brother to Karen and TJ, and uncle to Emily and Ally. He is predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Mary Ann Roppo, and his nephew, Tony. Joe was an exceptionally kind and good person, always willing to help anyone and always willing to start conversation with any stranger he met. He was so loved by his wife and family, and towards the end of his life, by his caregivers. He also had a wonderful sense of adventure, which led him to taking some wonderful trips with his wife. He also very much appreciated the simple, quiet times in life. Joe went through so much with his health, but he showed faith, strength and courage that very few possess. He fought every step of the way so that he could stay as long as he could with those he loved. He will be loved and missed dearly by all who knew him. May he rest in peace in the hands of our Father, forever. A memorial mass will be held in Joe’s honor on January 30, 2026 at 1:30 PM at Saint Mark’s Catholic Church, 5601 S. Flamingo on Road in Southwest Ranches.
Please keep the Roppo family in your thoughts and prayers. The Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel is Honored to assist the Roppo family with the arrangements.
