Gerald (Jerry) Fabricatore died peacefully after a long illness on February 20, 2026 at the age of 73.

Jerry was born September 19, 1952 in Newark, New Jersey. He graduated from Belmont Abbey College in 1977. He worked for 26 years for Honeywell as a Systems Control Engineer, Jerry was married to his wife Susan Welke Fabricatore for 30 years (and two days). When asked what the secret to the successful marriage is, he said, “We take care of each other.”

At work he was always willing to help his coworkers and was the “go to” person to solve problems. Health issues made it necessary for him to go on disability way too soon, but it was said that Jerry with half a brain was smarter than most people with the full one! He would forever explain to anyone how anything technical worked.

(Even if they really didn’t care!) He loved his work and has left his legacy in many local buildings.

Jerry was honest and kind and always willing to give of his time. He was the consummate old school gentleman. He volunteered at his local parish and at Schott Communities until he was no longer able. He was life-long Italian American Catholic and was an active member of St. Edward Catholic Parish in Pembroke Pines, He loved his Lord.

He loved cars, music, politics and anything technical. He was always “tinkering around.” He loved sports especially the Florida Panthers. He loved animals, mostly his beloved poodles. And he LOVED food, especially going out to breakfast. For many years he traveled the world and country with friends and his wife.

Jerry faced many health challenges that often prevented him from participating in the life he enjoyed. He faced all of them and fought with courage until the end. He will be missed by his loving wife Susan, his caregiver Candida (Candi), his dogs Sammie and Charlie, and many faithful friends and family.

An informal gathering will be held at the family house after the Mass.
