Marie Edith Timothee-Dubreuil Obituary

Marie-Edith Timothée Dubreuil, age 84, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Broward Health Hospital in Coral Springs, Florida, under the compassionate care of VITAS Hospice Care, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 15, 1941, in Trou-du-Nord, Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of Lucette J. Brouard and Alphonse Timothée. She spent her early years in Haiti, where she developed the strength, resilience, and values that guided her throughout her life. She later made her home in New York, and eventually in Florida, alongside her devoted husband, André Dubreuil. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and community until his passing in 2012. The loss of her husband was deeply felt, but Edith found renewed strength through her unwavering faith and devotion to her family and friends. She developed a passion for travel, revisiting her hometown in Haiti and exploring many parts of the world, especially Europe, where she found

great joy and inspiration in the beauty and grandeur of its churches. Edith was a loving mother and grandmother who found immense joy in caring for others, preparing meals, and bringing loved ones together. Her home was always open, and her presence offered comfort, wisdom, and stability to all who knew her. She was a devoted member of St. Bartholomew Church, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister. A quiet and generous philanthropist, she supported many causes close to her heart and was a significant contributor to the Lucia Lamour Foundation. Among her many acts of generosity, she helped refurbish the altar of St. Bartholomew Church, as well as that of St. Jean Baptiste Church in her hometown of Trou-du-Nord. She also delighted in helping her great-nieces and great-nephews, often gifting them their first cars. Her quiet dignity, kindness, and perseverance left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Vladimir Dubreuil, and her “daughter,” Josée Barrau (Carmel Barrau); her grandchildren, Vladimir Iseah, Sammara, Moriah, Emmanuel Dubreuil, Carmel Philippe, and Sidney Barrau (Frances). She is also survived by her sisters: Lucia Lamour, Madeleine Timothée, Jeanne Rose Timothée, Marie-Michelle Timothée Auguste (Wilner Auguste), and Anne-Marie Timothée Robert (Raoul Robert); and her brothers: Gabriel Timothée (Lidia Coby) and Rolin Timothée.

She will also be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, including Vayola Lagredelle Jean, Alta Lamour Pierre-Louis, Lynda Lamour Pierrot, Jean-Rodney Lamour, and Réal Lamour, along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Her legacy of love, generosity, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
