In Loving Memory of Patricia “Lela” García

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Patricia García, lovingly known as “Lela,” who passed away on August 26, 2026, in Miami, Florida.

Born on May 16, 1959, in Cali, Colombia, Lela was the beloved daughter of Alba Tello and the late Reynel García. She shared nearly 50 years of love and life with her beloved husband, Jesús Montoya.

Lela was a loving mother to her daughter, Carolina Sporkin, and a devoted grandmother to Katelyn Sporkin and Samantha Sporkin, who were truly the light of her life. She also helped raise Jacob Rossi, whom she loved deeply and always carried in her heart. She took great joy in caring for and spoiling those she loved with gifts, trips to the mall, and her endless love and affection.

Everyone who knew Lela loved her. She was caring, loyal, generous, thoughtful, and always knew how to make those around her feel special and included. She was an exceptional friend, and her family and friends meant everything to her.

Lela loved cooking, dancing, traveling, and finding great deals at TJ Maxx and Ross. Always elegant and beautifully put together, she loved getting ready for even the smallest occasion, making sure her outfit, accessories, and perfume were just right. She proudly lived by her unforgettable motto: “Primero el glamour.”

She will be deeply missed for her love, her company, her generosity, and the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind.

Lela is survived by her husband, Jesús Montoya; her daughter and son-in-law, Carolina Sporkin and Jeff Sporkin; her cherished granddaughters, Katelyn Sporkin and Samantha Sporkin; her mother, Alba Tello; and many family members and dear friends whose lives she touched.
