Obituary of Alden Gustilo Arteza
Please share a memory of Alden to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alden Gustilo Arteza passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 13th, 2017 at the age of 60.
Alden is survived by his wife Gloria, three sons Jonathan, Joseph, and Jayson, sister Moonyeen Alameida and brother Alexander Arteza and is preceded in death by his parents Celestino and Erlinda Arteza.
Alden was born on November 30th, 1956 in Bacolod City, Philippines. He moved to the United States at the age of 13 with his family and spent his early adulthood in Chicago. As an adult, his professional career relocated him to Miami, FL where he met Gloria Baesa and fell in love. They wedded in 1981 and celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary on May 1st, 2017. He remained a dedicated and loving husband to her throughout their marriage. The couple welcomed three sons into their family and raised them with good spiritual and moral values. His children will always remember him as a wonderful father who was ingenious, good-humored, selfless, supportive, and well-loved by everyone he touched.
Alden was accomplished at working with his hands, learning about new technologies, and providing uncommon, yet sage advice to others. An avid golfer, Alden liked to relax by remaining competitive on the fairway. He had a goal of making it to the pros someday. Also, stretching his acting talents, he performed as an extra for the action television series, “Burn Notice”, as well as commercials for SodaStream and Burger King.
He was a caring individual who loved his family and friends, always putting them before himself and who was passionate about recording memories and experiences. It was a rare event to see him without a camera as he wanted to capture every joyous moment of those that surrounded him. He was an active and dedicated member of the Church and a devout volunteer for the Filipino American Association.
