Herbert  98 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed  away on April 27, 2018. Born October 22, 1919 in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to his loving parents Reyes Martinez Colon and Lorenzo Colon. Beloved Husband to The late Maria (Lili) Colon married 67 years. Loving Father to Nilda “Lou Rosario,” Lillian Colon, Herbert Jr. Colon “Yvonne,” David  Colon “Maria,” Arlene Zebatto “Matthew,” Robert Colon “Leidys,” Yvette Strugnell “Bob” and Daniel Colon “Mirna.” Cherished Grandfather to 15 Grandchildren and Great Grandfather to 7 Great Grandchildren. He was the youngest of 5 siblings all Pre Deceased- The Late Horacio, Sergio, Pedro Luis and Julia. Herbert moved to South Florida from Toa Alta, Puerto Rico 17 years ago. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran. He received a good conduct medal, The Bronze Star Medal of Honor and The Purple Heart. He served in The Asiatic-Pacific Theater  as a sharp shooter. In Repose Wednesday, May 2, 2018. From 2-4 P.M. to 6-8 P.M. Burial Thursday, May 3, 2018 at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida with Military Honors. Arrangements by Joseph A. Scarano Stirling Memorial Chapel 6300 Stirling Road  Davie, Florida 33314.
