Kathleen A. Mazzi

Kathleen Anne Mazzi, 78, of Hollywood, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She was born on February 11, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Walter & Eleanore (Loeffler) Rothe. Kathleen attended Madison High School in Madison, NJ & upon graduation in 1958 she moved to Chicago to attend fashion design school.  When she was encouraged to move to New York City to pursue a fashion career, she decided to stay in Chicago instead.  She then worked in the real estate property management industry which took her to Indianapolis & then Florida in 1984. Kathleen worked for numerous companies in the South Florida area including Insignia/ESG, Lincoln Property Company/Citibank, Southeast Bank, & First Union National Bank & was also a board member of the Tamerlane Homeowners Association where she pinched every penny as treasurer.  She lived an interesting life traveling throughout the US & Europe & was a major donor to the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago.  Gardening & cats were her passions & for over 15 years she fed many cats in a park near her home.  

She is survived by her partner, Jack Mackey, brother, Arthur Rothe of Downingtown, PA, former husband, Fred Mazzi, nieces & nephews, Mary Lou & Bob McFarland of Ambler, PA,  Jack Weaver & Jeanne Egler of Worthington, OH, Beth & Jim Joyce of Mason, OH, great nieces & nephews, Rob, Megan & Kerry McFarland, Sarah Weaver, Christina & Joey Siemering, Justin Joyce & Taylor Shockey, & Jonathan & Ali Joyce.  A memorial party with family, friends & neighbors was held in May to celebrate Kathleen’s life.
