Obituary of Andrew Glenn Hagar

Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Andrew Glenn Hagar was born March 23, 1958 to David Jon Hagar and Susan Glenn Hagar in Old Town Maine.

He is survived by his husband Evaristo Gomez, his son David and Ashlee Hagar and their children Kaylee and Ethan.  Randal  and Dusti Shircel and their daughter Maci.  Brothers Duncan and Laura Hagar, Dan Hagar, Peter Hagar and Stephanie Via Hagar and their son Dylan Hagar. He is also survived by his cat Claudia. In 1966 the Hagar family moved to Lima, Ohio. Andy went to Bath schools and graduated from Bath High School in 1976. That fall he went into the Air Force. When his father fell ill Andy transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  While in the Air Force he met Ida who was a single mother with one son, Randal. They married in October of 1979 and David Ellis Hagar was born in February 1981. Andy graduated from The Ohio State University as a CRNA. He moved back to Dayton and began his career at St. Elizabeth Hospital. In 1990 He met Robert Harvey. The two of them started a life together that brought them to Florida. Sadly in 2004 Rob passed away leaving Andy to figure out the next phase of his life. While in Florida Andy worked at Baptist Hospital in Miami and in 2016 he took a job with The Cleveland Clinic in Weston FL.  Andy met and fell in love with Evo in 2004 and he would become his husband in 2015. The two of them enjoyed a very happy life together.  Recently Andy and Evo decided they would move to Tennessee to be closer to Andy’s son David and his family.  Andy was so excited about the move. After a perfect day spent with friends as Andy was getting into bed he told Evo “I’m so happy and I love you”… those were sadly his last words.  One of Andy’s passions was his surgical mission trips to Haiti. He spoke so fondly of the people he helped, especially the children.  Andy’s love and compassion has touched so many people.  He truly walked the walk most can only dream about. Andy was also an avid Antique collector with a special love for Antique cars, an antique music box that is a family heirloom and his “old chairs and rocks.”Andy  lived a full life that was surrounded by friends, family, hobbies and many acts of service to his fellow man.  He will be so missed by all who love him.
