Obituary of Helen Berstler

Helen McKissic Berstler, 69, of Pembroke Pines, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 4, 2018. at home after a long illness. Helen was born in Frankfurt, Germany February 21, 1949 to Robert and Anni (Bielig) Mckissic. She came to the U.S. in 1953, and her formative years were spent in Kissimmee and Ft. Myers, Florida before settling in South Florida. She had been a resident of Pembroke Pines for the past twenty-five years

 Helen worked for many years for Memorial HealthCare, and the concession stand at Pembroke Lakes Optimist Club. However, her favorite job was being a Mom. Helen loved playing with the Bunco gals each month, hitting the gym, going to the movies, and watching Tiger Woods. She adored and doted over her two cats Dali and Eartha. Helen enjoyed listening to KISS Country, and attending the Alan B. Larkin Symposium on the American Presidency every year at Florida Atlantic University.

Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Lisa, and son Roger. Helen is survived by her husband Dr. Wade Berstler, and her sons Patrick Dewey, Richard Dewey, Timothy Dewey, and Cory Berstler. She is also survived by her brother Robert Mickissic, and her sister Barbara Smith. In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, Stephanie, Daniel, and Erin.

A memorial service will be held on December 7, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 at The Joseph A. Scarano Memorial Chapel. 9000 Pines Boulevard Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
