Obituary of Vito Louis Borrelli

One night a man had a dream.  In it he was walking along a beach with the Lord.  Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.  For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the final scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.  He noticed many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints, and realized that they came at the hardest and saddest times of his life. Bothered about this, he questioned the Lord saying, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.  But I have noticed that during the most burdensome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My dear child, I love you and I would never leave you.  During the times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Vito Louis 93 of Cooper City, Florida passed away December 19, 2018. Born June 21, 1925 in Jersey City, NJ. Beloved Husband of Maria Calabrese Borrelli. Loving Father of Margaret Street "William," of Seattle, Washington, Phyllis McIntyre "Hart" of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Louis Borrelli "Lori." of Davie, Florida. Cherished Grandfather of David, Melissa, Christina, Michelle, Megan, Rudy, Jeffrey and Andrew. Great Grandfather of Kaylee, McKenna, Claire, Eleanor and 2 on the way.Dearest Brother of Louis Borrelli, Rose Restivo and The Late Eleanor Persico. Vito moved to South Florida from Lynbrook, L.I. New York. An active member and usher at St. Mark Catholic Church. A memeber of Knights of Columbus.He worked at Eastern Airlines.Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.Funeral Mass Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mark Catholic Church followed by Burial with Military Honors at South Florida VA National Cemetery at 1:15 P.M. Arrangements by Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel 9000 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024. Celebration of LIfe Gathering following at the home of Louis and Lori Borrelli at 4:00 P.M.
