Obituary of John N. Segal

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John N. Segal died  peacefully on Sunday March 31st in Plantation Fl. A loving friend to anyone he came in contact with John leaves his best friend Beatriz Molina, his adoptive grandchildren Nicolas and Stefano Wirth, loving brother Philip A Segal Jr., Barbara K. Segal sister-in-law, niece Joan Segal, nephews Jim and Adam Segal and 4 great nieces and nephews and 3 great great nieces and nephew.

Born in 1929 and raised in Newton Mass, John spent the majority of his life in Watertown and Needham, Ma. until retiring to Davie Florida. As a youth he attended Newton High, and University of Miami, where we believe he developed his love of “Pun’ times.    He then went on to serve his country in the Korean War (U.S Army, stationed in Germany ) from '50 - '52 . John spent the majority of his working years as a manufacturer's representative for lighting companies. A gifted buyer working for Raymond's and Gilcrest, he started his own successful manufacturers rep business in 1960. He served on the board of Directors of the American Red Cross in Cambridge Mass. He was also active in the Boston Counsel for Independent Living, the Housewares Clubs of New England, and the Women's Education and Industrial Union. Though not a tall man, John was large in presence and took great pleasure in making others laugh. He was an avid tennis player (and one-time Newton champ), a lover of good books and a lifetime Red Sox fan. We love you forever our dearest "Segal Begal"  - May there be lots of Pittsburgh black & blue steaks in heaven.
