Obituary of Edward Liotard

Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward Walter Liotard April 5th 1942 to Dec 2nd 2016 Born in Paterson New Jersey Edward had a full life, he wore many hats; he was a Husband first, and he loved his Wife Anita with all his heart and made it known to us all every time we would visit or chat on the phone. He was a Dad to all his Kids, Janet (Jan) Ross, Vincent (Vinnie) Ipsale, Anthony (Tony) Ipsale, Eddie (stix) Liotard James (Jim) Ipsale and William (Wil) Liotard, He loved each of them and always had a great story to tell about every single one of them. He was a Wonderful Father in Law to James (Jim) Ross, Teresa Ipsale, Cecile Liotard and Nita Ipsale. He was a Grandfather to Jess Edward Karcher, Laura-Marie Karcher, Jimmy Ross, Angelina Liotard, Danny Ipsale, Hailey Ipsale and Tracy Vogt. He loved the Grandkids always showing photos and sharing stories posted on Facebook, yes he was on Facebook, it just proves that you can teach an old dog new tricks. He was also an awesome Great Grandfather to Miley-Marie, Tj, Trey, Brandon, Erika and Chelsea and a new one on the way, his name will be Jonathan Edward after His Great Grandfather. Ed love to talk about his family and friends, he was always telling stories about his past adventures and would always bring a smile to anyone's face who was listening. Ed was in the Trucking and Transportation Business most of his life, even Marrying Anita on the Back of a Flatbed Truck, what a wedding and celebration that was. He always had a house full of Drivers and friends who he would cook for with a smile on his face. Tony's favorite story about his Dad was when he was 16 years old he started driving over the road with his Dad and Ed decided to go in the sleeper and let Tony take the wheel telling him to take it easy, when he woke up he was so surprised how far they had traveled and looked at the speedometer and realized they were slightly breaking the limit, he said he knew right then and there that Tony would be able to drive anything and he was right, his training made Tony the great driver he is today. Another story is one he and Anita shared while laughing, they were on the Harley going down 441 and Anita was getting waved at by everyone and people were blowing their horns at them she had no idea why but then felt a bit of a breeze and realized her shirt had come untied and she was flashing a bit more than her smile. Anita also shared a story where they cooked up a lot of Italian food for his friends to have a picnic on the beach. The police patrolling the area asked them why so much food, he said my friends like my Italian food. One of the Police officers asked if they could come back and have some too and of course he said yes. Jan's best Story was when he let her drive the Brand New Red Firebird, she couldn't see past the hood because it was so long and did not realize that she was so close to a brick wall in front of the house. She scrapped the car, but instead of telling him she used red nail polish to cover it, let's just say she did not get away with it and says "it was nice to drive that car the ONE and only time". She also said she had him over for Thanksgiving one year and decided to order precooked meal from Publix, he found out and never let her live that down, every time he would come to eat he would ask if it was bought from Publix. Vince remembers a ring that his dad gave him that he still has, and to this day he Stores it in safe keeping. He also has a great memory of how his Dad rescued a Dog and thought of Vince, he knows Vince is a dog lover so of course he wanted to give the dog a good home. Ed kept the dog and took care of it until he was scheduled to go up Vince's way, he brought Vince the dog, Vince named Him Sporty and Gave him a good life. Wil said he remembers his Mom and Dad taking him to a carnival when he was a kid and remembers going on the rides and just having a carefree kind of night, the kind a kid remembers forever. He has so many memories of his Dad, and he will always be in his heart, and will be missed every day. Jimmy Said that he can remember His Dad cooking Big Breakfasts on the weekends, they would include everything from Eggs, French Toast Pancakes, Bacon, Sausage, Bread, Omelets you name it Ed would have it in the spread, it was like going to a restaurant for Brunch only way better. Jess Edward, Ed's Grandson remembers when "Papa" let him drive a golf cart at one of the warehouses he was working in, Jess ran in to a bunch of pallets and they almost flipped over, they were laughing and all Papa could say was Holy F*** Danny, another one of Ed's Grandsons said that his Grandfather, he called him "Pop" would take him to work with him and taught him so many life lessons that he uses in his life today and he will miss him always. Danny's kids Trey and Bandon always loved going to Pop and Gram's house when they would come to Florida, they loved walking down to the little canal at the end of the road and watch for the fish and turtles, they will miss their Pop very much. Laura-Marie says her fondest memories of her Papa is when he would pick her up from school on his motorcycle and instead of taking her straight home to do her homework he would drive slowly past her friend's house's so they could see her on the back of a Harley, he told her she would be "The Cool Kid" in school, he was right all her friends thought she had the coolest Grandpa. She also tells a story where he had a fly in his hand and told her it was her Uncle Frankie, she loved Uncle Frankie, I was baffled she said, but believed him, he shook his fist…. waved them in the air and then as hard as he could he did a high five on the window, and then on the window sill was a smushed fly, he said I squashed Frankie and laughed out loud, I freaked out and it made him feel so bad afterwards. And after that every time they would get together she would tease him and tell him I always thought you were amazing until you squashed Uncle Frankie, one little joke turned into a life time antidote between her Papa and her. My Papa always had my back and told me I was always his number one girl. I Will miss him so much. Miley and TJ Ed's Great Grands say they loved Papa's Smile and the sound of his laugh, and they loved him with all their hearts. Jimmy, Ed's Grandson says that they were going through some photos and his Mom showed him a photo of when Santa came to his house and brought him presents, he had forgotten about it until he saw the photo, the look on his face in the photo was priceless, he just recently found out that Santa was his Papa. He will always treasure the fact that he did that special thing for him, and he loved him so much. Wow this could go on for Hours and Hours and there would still be more stories to tell. The beauty of this site is you can go on and share your own stories, in fact we invite you too. Ed was a great man and will be missed by so many. He was loved….
