Obituary of Mimose Lamarre
Please share a memory of Mimose to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mimose Lamarre was born in Port-au-Prince Haïti of Roger Lamarre and Délaide Lamarre, born Mongène, on October 19, 1947. As the eldest of seven siblings, she started assisting her mother with chores that needed to take place around the house, as the family increased in size. She became very protective of her younger siblings and no one except for her could "mess" with them. She attended primary school at St Thérèse de L'Enfant Jésus and secondary school at Lycée des Jeunes Filles. While still in attendance there, to support outside family members and the beginning of an independent adult life, she enlisted at the Craane's Institut Haïtien des Sciences Administratives and received a diplômât in "secrétariat". A move she judged necessary before she could muster the courage to ask her Dad to find her a job. She got her wish of employment at the Banque Nationale Agricole de Commerce. An employment which was conditional on completing her secondary education. Mimose was a pioneer. She satisfied her father's wishes by completing both the first and second parts of her Baccalauréat.
Married to Marc-Henry Nesi in 1974 and in 1975 they moved to New York and gave birth to her first Son: Edwin. Her second son, Stephen, was born later in Philadelphia. She moved to Miami to be closer to her siblings and to instill in her sons the value of family life. All her life, Mimose kept close proximity to God and was instrumental in extending her mother's spiritual teaching to her siblings and her sons as it pertains to prayers and their relationship with Christ. Mimose dedicated her existence to religious life, she was an avid reader of the Bible, attended conferences, seminars, sang in church choirs and attended mass on more than regular basis. Mimose worked for many years at a government agency as a fiscal assistant. Mimose was a force of nature, God's Angel for the less fortunate. She was giving person and had a golden heart. Mimose is survived by her sons Edwin and Stephen; her daughter-in-law Shareeke; her grandchildren Skylar and her brother; her sisters Bernadette, Kettlie, Carol and Marie Lucie; her sister-in-law Myrza; her brothers Eddy and Richard; brother-in-laws Eddy and Mario; many nephews; nieces; and score of other relatives and close friends.
