Obituary of Rosemary Montgomery

Rosemary Kumpik Montgomery, 87,of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away December 20, 2016,in Memorial Hospital West.
She was born in Walworth, Wis., to Leonard and Louise Eck Brickner. She lived her early life on a farm and working at her parents store. She graduated from Lake Geneva High School.
Her gentle and compassionate nature led her to pursue a nursing career. In 1950, she graduated from Mercy Hospital of Nursing and began her career.
She married Edward Kumpik and moved to Miami, FL. They had seven children. Unfortunately the fairy tale ended and she raised her children by herself, for about ten years. But love wasn't over with her yet. She fell in love with James Montgomery. They were wed in the early 70's and have been happily married over 40 years.
She was employed at South Miami Hospital for over 30 years and retired in 1995.
She was loving and dedicated to her family. She always had food ready for anyone who stopped by. She loved game shows, love stories and traveling.
She is survived by her husband James; five children, Edward Kumpik, John (Lisa) Kumpik, Thomas Kumpik, Starr Riegler, and Kathleen Kumpik; and her sister, Helen (Ralph)Marshall. She has seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother Joseph Brickner; son, Stephen and daughter, Helen.
