Obituary of Jean Anna Vones

Jean Ann Beers Vones, 83, passed away peacefully on February 23. Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Matriarch of the family. Born in Hot Springs, Virginia, on May 24, 1936. After graduating from Miami Edison HS in 1954, she married Chuck Vones in November 1954. Then moved to Somerville, NJ where Chuck Sr’s family was and had their first child, Chuck Jr. They moved back to South Florida, in 1956, where they settled in Hialeah. They had their second child, Laura, in 1958. Raised their family until moving to Pembroke Pines in 1975. Jean worked in the food brokerage industry, as office manager, for McInerney and sons, Acosta, Hill Bros and Florida Frozen foods. She loved her family, watching her grandchildren participate in sports, shopping, many cruises, road trips and vacationing in Sanibel and at their cabins in NC. Survived by her loving, devoted husband of 65 years Chuck, son Chuck Jr. (Janet), Daughter Laura (Richard) and Loving sister Cherie (Mike) & Diane. Grand children Dennis (Terese), Chris (Kristen), Jessica (Brandon), Brittany (Dustin) and Jason (Kara). Great grandchildren Jade, Michael, Ava, James, Jaxson, Brody, Mason, Reed, Camden, Crewe and numerous nieces, nephews and many lifelong friends. The family would like to thank mom’s caregivers; Hortense Robinson, Kadie Walker and the entire Vitas Hospice team. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 29, at Joseph Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, 9000 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines. Visitation at 10am. Service at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Organization.
