Obituary of Maria R Piloto

PILOTO Maria Rita Piloto, a resident of Miami Lakes, died March 4, 2020. She was 81. Maria was born March 5, 1938 in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, where she also grew up. In 1965, she moved to South Florida to join her husband, Aristides Piloto. The couple was married nearly 50 years. Aristides died in 2016. Maria worked as a seamstress at various bridal boutiques along Miracle Mile and spent more than a decade working at Chic Parisien in Coral Gables. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Piloto and her husband the Rev. Christopher Steele of Dallas, Texas; son Jose Piloto and his wife Lissette Calero Piloto of Miami Lakes; granddaughters, Kamila and Victoria; grandson Adrian Jose; sister-in-law Aleida Hernandez of Miami; nieces and life-long friends. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Miami. In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to Catholic Hospice at Catholic Health Services.
