Obituary of Ruth F. Gargiullo
Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth “Ruthy” Gargiullo, beloved wife of Joe Gargiullo on March 17, 2020. Ruthy was born on May 28, 1930 in Brooklyn NY to the late Charles and Josephine Spallitta.
She found her soul mate and the love of her life at the age of 20, when she married Joe Gargiullo and has been married to him for 69 years. She was the proud mother of her eternally grateful children Jeanne Holland, Joan Levy (Neil); Joe Gargiullo (Lisa); and John Gargiullo (Teresa). She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren Christopher Semprun (Erin); Diana Brooks (Karvin); Jennifer Israel; Dena Pierce (Lenny); Matthew Levy (Chelsea); John , Sarah (Anthony Pallante), Emily and Keri Gargiullo; Zachery and Alex Kimble; Andrew and Travis Brown; 11 Great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Kaylee, and Kayden Brooks; Ava and Domenic Israel; Tyson, Jocelyn and Isaac Pierce, Cameron Knapp; Chase and Dakota Semprun; her sister-in law Connie Morse; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Chuck Spallitta and sister Josephine Cutrone and an extensive list of brother and sister’s-in-law whom she loved dearly.
Ruthy and Joe enjoyed traveling in retirement and if you ever wanted a suggestion of what to see anywhere that she had been she was the person to see, our resident travel guide. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. But as much as she enjoyed all of that, her true love and the thing that made her the happiest was being with her family. She looked forward to the Gargiullo annual family vacations so she could be amongst her beloved family, from different parts of the country, for a week of fun and family bonding.
Although she never made a long story short, she always had funny stories to tell that would bring smiles and laughs to everyone. Her “come as you are” and “all are welcome” attitude certainly left her mark on anyone she came in contact with. She was a shining example of unconditional love and to know her was to love her.
She is deeply loved and will be deeply missed!
