Obituary of Joseph Pampinella
Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joe Pampinella was a loving son to Joseph & Lucy Pampinella, baby brother to Richard Pampinella and father to Christian and Rachael Pampinella.
Joe was a Brooklyn boy who moved to Miami, FL the summer of 1979 with his friend, Tony. They hopped in Joe’s blue Ford Maverick, amidst a gas shortage, and hit the road for the 20 hour trek. In 1980, Joe and his friend Tony bought a failing Italian restaurant and re-established what became the famous Flora’s Pizza of North Miami Beach. It cameo-ed in the show Miami Vice and was a local favorite of Radio talk show host, Neil Rogers. Joe spent the next 20 years running his successful business and raising his two children. They traveled multiple times a year back to Brooklyn for family visits, as he created the foundation of “family” for his kids. He dedicated his life to his son and daughter to make sure they had everything they needed. From his son’s acceptance into Indiana University at the age of 15 and his daughter’s multiple softball accolades, he was always their biggest supporter. He was known for his generosity of spirit and always welcomed the “strays” in his home. He will forever be remembered for his tremendous, goofy heart and affinity for helping others. He was definitely not your average Joe.
