Kevin was many things. A son, fiancé, father, uncle, godfather, and best friend. He was also so much more. To our family, Kevin was the family we made for ourselves. Chad and I had the pleasure of sharing so many adventures with him. From our crazy days of pool party’s and battle ship pong, “just the tip” adventures and the keys , to Paramedic school (he was always the smarter one) babies and wedding planning, he was our go to.
Kevin’s relationship with chad is unlike anyone I’ve ever seen. They were always there for each other. He was the brother Chad never had and the extra brother Kevin chose. They would snap or text almost everyday like the little boyfriends they were. Kevin and I joked that I was always the third wheel and sometimes I felt like it lol. It was nothing but plans for the future or Kevin convincing chad into free diving or planning the next time they could go spear fishing (the weather always ruined it). Their bond was once in a lifetime.
When we found out we were expecting there was not a doubt in our minds that he was The Godfather. The patience, hard work ethic, fun, loving attitude he possessed made it easy to trust that he was the one we would want Gerrit to look up to forever. In the two years that Gerrit had with Kevin he learned to golf, drive a boat, hold a chicken, pick up ladies, and Kevin taught him his love for the ocean and the animals that surround it. Kevin, the boys are definitely gonna miss bae day with you, riding bikes and cruisin.
Kevin was the type of person that would drop everything to help you out. Wether you needed an IV because your pregnant and puking your brains out or you we’re stuck on the side of the road with a flat. He was there. He was there when you went into labor at 3 am ready to get to the hospital so he could meet his Godson. He put so much heart into everything he did. He was always smiling and always gave you the silver lining no Matter what the situation was. He was perfect and he was everything to our family.
When Kevin met Meagan we knew she was the one. He even told us. The light in his eyes and the smile on his face was brighter then we had ever seen. Kevin had finally found his happily ever after and the cherry topper of it all was that sweet baby girl, Sydney. He was so excited and so beyond ready to be a father and a husband. But he already was. He worked so hard for them.
I speak for myself, Chad, Gerrit, the Charlock family, & the Baker/Murphy family. We will miss you everyday and we will honor you in everything we do. We will continue to love Meagan and Sydney and take care of him the way you would take care of us.
We love you Kevin ❤️ Until we meet again.
