Natividad Ramiriez, 89, resident of North Miami Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30th, 2020. She was born on April 2nd, 1931 to Candida Cruz and Alberto Ramirez in San German, Puerto Rico. She was of Catholic faith. Natividad was known as “Naty” by her loved ones. She moved to New York, New York in 1958 where she raised her seven children. She worked as a Supervisor of a bookbinding company in New Jersey. Her interests included crocheting, cooking, and gardening. Her love for her family was unmatched by anyone, she put them above all. She retired from her career and relocated to North Miami Beach in 1990. Her retirement allowed her to fulfill her passion for spending time with family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Any person who met Naty was touched by her love, strength, and wisdom. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her Mother – Candida Ramirez; Father- Alberto Ramirez; Sister – Gladys Ramirez; Brothers – Monserrate (Coty) Ramirez, Angel (Papo) Ramirez, Victor Ramirez; Children – Yvette Nellie Mercado, Harry Mercado, and Walter (Wito) Mercado. She is survived by her life partner of 45 years – William Ortiz; Son – Eric Mercado and his wife Tina; Son – Irving Mercado; Son – Elmer Mercado and his wife Conchie; Son – José Mercado and his wife Carrie, Daughter – Maria Mercado; Daughter – Nellie Mercado and her partner Charlie; Daughter-In-Law – Patricia Mercado; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; Brother- Luis Ramirez; Brother- Albert Ramirez; Sister- Isabel (Chavo) Ramirez; and Sister- Mildred Rodriguez. A visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2nd 2020, at the Joseph A. Scarano Funeral Home at 9000 PinesBoulevard, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024. Funeral Services will be held at Los Robles Memorial Park in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association: Walk to End Alzheimer’s at 3323 West Commercial Boulevard Suite 260, Fort Lauderdale, 33309.
