Alice Forst, wife of the recently deceased Joseph Forst, of Davie, Florida, passed away June 6th, 2020 at the age of 86.
She is survived by siblings Thomas Roach, Joan McCabe, and Cecilia Kelly. Preceding Alice to be with the creator were her brothers Vincent and Henry, her sisters Mary, Anna, Patricia, and her sister-in-law, Muriel.
Alice grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn where she lived and worked at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for over 25 years. During that time, she met the man she often called “the love of her life,” Joseph Forst, an employee at The New York City Department of Transportation, he and Alice married and lived in Greenpoint, New York. When they decided to retire the two relocated to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Joe’s love of horses drew him to take a job at Calder Horse Track. After the passing of their pet dog Lincoln, Alice joined him at work for the Calder Horse Track.
Enjoying their days working together and the friendships they built there, they held their positions for twelve years. They would vacation on cruise ships, dine out together and spend their free time visiting with family and friends.
Alice lived life to the fullest, infusing each moment with her high energy and exuberance to no end. Coming from a large family she was loved greatly and will be remembered by many nieces and nephews, along with several great-nieces and nephews from her and Joe’s side of the family.
Every day she prayed for her friends, her family, and her country. Knowing that she is now closer to God should make us more secure in the fact she has God’s ear and is praying even harder for every one of us.
Anyone who met Alice was immediately drawn in by her friendly manner and kindness. Her frankness, sincerity, loving personality, and generosity kept her in high regard by all.
Although she is no longer with us I believe she is where she wanted to be, next to Joe, finishing his sentences and taking care of him in heaven, as she did while they were here with us on earth. We will all miss her, but she is part of us and in our memories and prayers. Recalling her smile and laugh is the best way to remember Alice and her wonderful life.
