Please share a memory of Ruby to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MADINYA Ruby 69 departed this Life July 13, 2020. Arrangements by Joseph A. Scarano Presidential Circle Memorial Chapel-4351 Hollywood Boulevard Hollywood Hills, Florida 33021. Please keep the Madinya family in your prayers. On July 13, 2020 our Lord needed another angel in heaven. He needed a sweet soul; one that rarely had anger in her heart; one that was dedicated to her family; one who’s light and warmth was felt by all who met her. Ruby Maria Madinya was born on September 27, 1950 in Barranquilla, Colombia to Alejandro and Alba Nahar. Ruby was the 8th of 9 siblings. Ruby came to the U.S. at 16 with her family and they settled in Brooklyn, NY. She became a U.S. citizen and was always very proud of her Colombian heritage; visiting her homeland when she could and keeping her traditions alive. She often did that by cooking for her family. Her arepas, bollos and lentejas were family staples enjoyed by everyone. Ruby was a deeply religious woman; devoted to her Catholic faith. She rose with the sun, when the world was most peaceful to recite her daily prayers. For many years Ruby and her husband Eduardo looked forward to buying a home and moving to South Florida. In 1998, they made that dream come true and it didn’t take long for the rest of the family to follow. Ruby always worked hard at whatever she did. She was always organized and cared about details. These skills served her well in her role as Food Service Supervisor at the Seminole Classic Casino. Her sweet nature and care for her co-workers made everyone love working with her; with many affectionately calling her Mama Ruby. Ruby loved Christmas. She and Eduardo spent many years building a beautiful Christmas Village collection. They would start building the village before Halloween so that they had time to nail every little detail. The Village was the centerpiece of a home that was filled with family and friends every holiday. It was a labor of love and something Ruby was very proud of. What Ruby was most proud of was her family; it is her legacy. Her love touched each and every one of us and we will find it difficult to go on without her, but we will because that’s what she would have wanted above all else. Ruby is survived by her husband Eduardo Sr., her children Ruby, Juan Carlos, Lissette, Albert and Jason. Her step-sons Eduardo Jr., Xavier and Joffre. Her grandchildren Jennifer, Phylicia, Carlos, Adrianna, Kristal, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Eduardo III, Nico, Samuel, Geovanni, Christian, Derek, Anahi, Brooklyn, Noah and Matteo. Her great-granddaughters Ariel and Macie. Her sisters Hortencia and Gloria and her brothers Antonio and Juan. Rest in Peace. You will be forever loved and forever missed. Funeral Mass to be held at: Nativity Catholic Church 5220 Johnson Street Hollywood, Florida Please reach out to the family or Nativity Catholic Church for date and time as it will be scheduled in the next few weeks.
