Obituary of Anthony Maggio

It is with great sadness that the family of Anthony John Maggio announces his passing on August 17, 2020 just 20 days after his 71st birthday. Anthony was called to be with the Lord where he was welcomed by his parents and beloved sister Concetta Maggio and great-nephew Jovani Joseph Maggio. Anthony lost a long battle with cancer that he faced with courage and the constant care from his sister and best friend, Clotilde Maggio. Anthony was born July 28, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Anthony John Maggio and Angela D'Angelo Maggio. Anthony was the youngest of four children. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Drexel Hill, Pa. where he attended Saint Bernadette Parochial School. The family lived in Drexel Hill until the late 1960's when they moved to Margate N.J.. While in Margate, Anthony attended Atlantic City High School and graduated in 1968. He then attended technical school to pursue a successful career as a stylist. The family moved to South Florida in 1972. Anthony enjoyed life in South Florida. He loved the beach, trips to the Florida Keys, snorkeling, paddle boarding and especially enjoyed floating in a rubber raft on the warm placid water of the Gulf of Mexico off Marathon Key. Anthony was a gentle, generous and kind man who had many friends. Anthony is survived by his brother Joseph (Christine) Maggio and sister Clotilde Maggio, long-time Hollywood, Florida residents. He adored his seven nieces and nephews Anthony (Casie) John Maggio, Alexis (Mark) Heinrich, Nicholas (Aniela) Maggio, Stratton Maggio, Michael (Jacqueline) Maggio, Marcette Vona, Josephine (Cullen) Vona Black, along with their combined 12 children Corina, Joven, Sydney,Tanner, Claire, Juliana, Dominic, Natalia, Luca, Nino, Monte and Eva all of whom will miss him dearly. Anthony, you may be gone but will never be forgotten. Until we meet again, dear brother, the wound will eventually heal but the pain will linger.
