Obituary of Virginia Hesse
Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Virginia Whtock Hesse 1932-It is with heavy heart's but lifted spirit that we write to inform you of our mother's passing Virginia Whytock Hesse into Paradise on January 25th 2021.
She was a pioneer woman who was a Registered Nurse for 49yrs,a wife, Mother and Grandmother and by personality always took care of others.
Our mother was a refined lady who loved adventure, loved to laugh, loved to eat, loved to entertain and she loved to dance. Above all else she loved our Dad and adored her family. She loved Long Island and especially her home in Bellmore(1955-2018) She rooted for the underdog and was happy and excited through our life's accomplishments and supported us through our missteps.
Mom had several family members and friends who she saw, traveled and kept in touch with. Many were from her childhood - 70 years plus. Many came down to Florida to see her after she moved here in Sep 2018, prior to Covid 19.. All still kept in touch with her. Whether you called or wrote please know it meant the world to our mom and to us. Even when she couldn't really speak she was still thrilled.
Above all else our mother was a women of honor, truth and integrity.
With the help and assistance of our CNA's who became family we were able to keep mom happy and healthy through the first 10 months of Covid, since it was declared an epidemic on March 17th. Bruce and Bridget went down to the Keys for a few days "off." Upon returning we decided the risk was necessary to take mom to the hospital where she tested positive for Covid. This was January 12th. At this time we were unable to see mom but with the help of medical staff were able to Face Time with her.
Bruce was able to see Mom the following Thursday and Wendy the following Friday as mom tested negative. On that Friday, mom's smile lit up her eyes and she even took a sip of water. We said a few prayer's including the Lord's prayer and the Scottish prayer. Our plan was to have her discharged to hospice and then home. She passed that Monday1/25/2021 The family takes great pride that all decisions were made united and we always honored our mom's wishes.
Being socially responsible at this time, we are not having a viewing, memorial service or funeral. This summer once conditions improve and it is safe to travel we will bring mom to New York to be next to dad. As many of you know, mom and dad were together from the time they were teenagers.
Please do all you can for yourselves and others during this very trying time and stay safe. Our family has suffered many losses through this terrible virus. Mom, Bridget's sister Linda, Linda's son Robert and our first cousin Joseph. May they all be in a better place and with other loved ones.
We thank you all for your cares, concerns, support and love. Please know we return the same to you and hope to see many of you in the near future.
Blessings,
The Hesse Family
