Louvenia Motley Livingston (Signing off from earthly world)
Louvenia Motley Livingston, was born Tuesday, September 30, 1924 in Reidsville, North Carolina. She transitioned on Friday, March 26, 2021 in the Springtree Rehabilitation Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She now joins her siblings in heaven: Lawrence, Walter, Irvin, Pearl, Teresa, Australia, and Clarina.
Louvenia was endearingly called “Honey West” for her inquisitive, witty, and detective-like skills, and if one thing’s for certain, it’s that, “Honey West, don’t take no mess.” She was known for her beautiful smile and great sense of humor.
She attended Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville. She relocated to St. Albans, Queens where she followed her passion of beauty & cosmetology. It was there in New York where she became a beautician, and later met the love of her life and soul mate Thomas Drake Livingston. They went on to get married and have five children: Samuel Nunally, Tyrone Livingston, Kenneth Livingston, the late Eric Livingston and Luvene Livingston-Green (A.K.A. “Little Lou”) She took pride in being a devoted wife and mother. She was the best wife, sister, friend, mother, and grandmother anyone could ever ask for.
She is survived by 4 of her children, 3 beloved daughters-in-law: Jeannette, Irene, and Cheryl. Her 12 grandchildren: Sean, Tamisha, “Little Kenny”, Ryan, Jason, Trevor, Andrew, Lauren, Lindsey, Kyle, Khayla, and Chelsea. She also has 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Louvenia was loved by many and will truly be missed.
We want to give a special thank you to the staff at Springtree Rehabilitation Center, Emma & Dashka who extended extra love and support during her transition. A special thank you to Cheryl Livingston for always going above and beyond, and Joseph A. Sarano Funeral Home.
Due to COVID-19 Louvenia’s Farewell Celebration will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Location: TBA
