Obituary of William Lazaraus Solomon

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
William Lazarus Solomon, Jr. passed away on April 8, 2021 at the age of 95. Bill was outgoing, friendly, and loved to be around other people. Bill was born and raised in Georgia. After high school, he joined the Merchant Marines and served during WWII. After the war, he was then drafted into the US Army. Following his military service, Bill attended the University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in accounting. While working in Pennsylvania, he subsequently met his wife, Gabriella. They moved to South Florida in 1960, where they raised their six children and resided for the remainder of their 56-year marriage. Gabriella passed away in 2010. Bill spent most of his career, over 30 years, working as an insurance sales agent, which suited his penchant for conversing with others. Bill also found immense satisfaction from his lifelong dedication to the Baptist church, of which he was an active member who gave his time, treasure, and talent by teaching Bible study, donating, and playing hymns on the piano. Bill remarried in November, 2020. He is survived by his wife and his six children, Bill Solomon III (Mary Ann), Mark Solomon, Becky McAlpine (Ken), Beth Brunman (Hal), Ben Solomon (Kim), and Brad Solomon. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Bill IV, Christina, Kenny II, Kevin, Angela, Andrew, and Keri and his five great-grandchildren, George, Annie, Quinn, Madeline, Gabriella, and Kenny III.
