Obituary of George John Ringger

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
RINGGER George John Ringger passed away on June 5, 2021, from complications stemming from his prolonged battle with cancer. George died peacefully, surrounded by his family in the home he built for them. He was 65 years old. George was born on November 12, 1955, to Frederick Walter and Alice Mary (Lochner) Ringger. He was the youngest of four children in a very close-knit family and grew up in the idyllic neighborhood of Anneslie in Towson, MD. He was a proud member of the Towson High School Class of 1973. Ever curious and never satisfied with a simple answer, George attended Essex Community College and then followed his engineering passions to Florida Atlantic University, where he earned a BS in the nation’s most advanced Ocean Engineering program. At FAU, George met the love of his life, Elaine Frances Charles, whom he wooed with love songs, flying kites, and boyish good looks. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in February. George and Elaine developed their homestead at Alegria Mango Farm in Southwest Ranches, Florida, where they raised their two sons, Devin and Kyle, and where four generations of the Charles-Ringger family have enjoyed the fruits of their labor. George was a consummate professional as an engineer, a Federal Aviation Administration-certified quality assurance officer, and a university professor. He held executive positions for defense and aviation manufacturers, FAA repair stations, and aftermarket distributors. A leader in aviation compliance, George established and led the Airline Suppliers Association’s certificate body, and used his gift of public speaking as a celebrated instructor and university professor. Whether he was leading professional training sessions at ASA conferences, guiding the next generation of graduates at Embry-Riddle University, or even attaining his own mid-career Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science, George was always doing what he did best—mentoring and developing everyone around him to become their best versions of themselves. On June 5, George John Ringger departed this life for the next, leaving this world a better place than he found it. He is survived by his wife Elaine Frances Charles-Ringger; eldest son Devin Charles Ringger and his partner, Christine Sloane; youngest son Kyle Charles Ringger, daughter-in-law Sabrina Talamo Ringger, and granddaughter Sedona Talamo Ringger; sisters Donna Easton and Irene Spangle; brother Fred Ringger; brothers-in-law John Easton and Joe Spangle; sister-in-law Kathleen Charles; mother-in-law Nancy Charles; many, many dear relatives and friends; and doggies Biscuit, Charlie, and Lucy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 26 from 2:00-5:00pm at the Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel, 9000 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation in George’s name to either the Humane Society of Broward County or the American Cancer Society. Please keep the Ringger family in your prayers. The Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel is Honored to assist the Ringger family with the arrangements.
