Obituary of Ira Elliot Skolnik

SKOLNIK Ira Skolnik, 89, passed away peacefully at home on June 11th. Born in Brooklyn, NY on July 7, 1932, he was the son of the late Samuel & Ida (Greenman) Skolnik. He leaves behind his favorite & loving wife Sondra Skolnik, his son Glenn Skolnik, and his two grandchildren Sami & Ava Skolnik. He Also leaves his brother Michael Skolnik & wife, Susan, of Marina Del Rey, CA, his nephew Steven & wife Rebecca, and niece Ilana Skolnik, all from California. Ira was the owner of a garment business in New York until moving to Florida in 1989. He was a member of Montammy Country Club in New Jersey until 1989. After permanently moving to Hunters Run CC in Boynton Beach, Fl, where he thoroughly enjoyed his life playing golf and cards. At the age of 62, he reinvented himself and became a real estate agent and a member of the Lang Realty group, where he sold real estate at his favorite place on earth: Hunters Run. Always an avid athlete and lover of sports, he would watch anything on tv that involved a ball - whether it was golf, football, tennis, baseball – all while simultaneously reading one of three books that he would devour weekly. He was charming, witty, and had a great smile…but he couldn’t dance a step! He will be missed! In lieu of flowers please send donations to the FAU Foundation, in his honor: FAU Foundation.
