Obituary of Rupert F. Spencer

Rupert Francis Spencer age 94 of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away on July 15, 2021, 2:00AM at Florida Medical Center Hospice Inpatient Unit in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from complications of Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Trinidad , West Indies on June 27, 1927 and is survived by his wife Sheila Spencer of 40 years, and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. During his long battle with Alzeimer’s Diease he was cared for by caregivers, Hermin Wilks, Carol Lawson, Lourdie Augustin, and Beatrice Joseph. Rupert enjoyed watching basketball, football and soccer (he was a soccer player in his early youth). He also loved his cars, (had to have a new one every three years. His latest one was a Lexus. Anyone who knew Rupert knows he always said he likes “top of the line things”. He also loved music (especially calypso). He was a welder/pipefitter and always talked about how he went to Shell Trade School for five years to master the trade because he wanted to be the best and was very proud of his accomplishments (even did some welding work for the President of Trinidad.
