Obituary of Maria Teresa Rodriguez

Maria Teresa Rodriguez, known to many as Sonia Vazquez, was a loving and caring soul. She was diagnosed with Dementia in early 2015. She transitioned to Glory peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones at 3:40 in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. She was 83 years old. Maria is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, her son and her husband. Maria was born to Juan and Carmen Rodriguez on May 14,1938 in the town of Cayey, in beautiful Puerto Rico, which she proudly loved. She attended school through the 7th grade level when she had to help her family and assist in her household. On June 26, 1953 she married the love of her life, and they started their family as of May 14, 1955. Maria was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She loved the Lord with all her heart and soul and would encourage everyone she came in contact with to do the same. She enjoyed singing, dancing, worshiping at Church, praying, cooking and spending time with loved ones. She had a contagious joy and energy for life and people despite the difficulties she faced throughout her years. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. May her soul rest peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 11 in the morning, at Scarano funeral home - 6970 Stirling Road Davie, FL 33024. The interment will follow at Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery - 2001 SW 4th Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315
