Obituary of Antonio Corpuz Tugaoen

Please share a memory of Antonio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
He was born in 1935, his father, Delphin, was a farmer, a handyman and one of the Marcoses trustful caretakers. His mother, Teodora, was a plain housewife who often helped her husband in the farm to make a living. He was the 3rd born of 7 children who grew up in the scarcity of World War II in the infamous City of Batac, Ilocos Norte (The City of Great Leaders). Antonio was his given name which means “priceless”, “inestimable” and “praiseworthy” in the Bible. Born in barangay Aglipay (named after Gregorio Aglipay) he was an Aglipayan by religion, became a Catholic when he got married and by the Mercy and Grace of the Father in Heaven, he was called to join the True Chruch of Christ. Ever since he was a little boy, he tried to find ways to get past hardship for his family. He’d rather worked a shoeshiner and a musician, so he does not have to work under the scorching sun planting rice, garlic, and tobacco. He found his way to studying in Manila with the help of his Manang (Eugenia aka Luncia) and earns a bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science. With a bit of luck, he operated internationally as a sailor (Seaman) where he later became a Captain. He managed to bravely navigate large bodies of water on massive tanker ships to move oil to different corners of the earth, not to mention, his frequent traverse was the Persian Gulf during the great turmoil between Iran and Iraq. He did all of these to be able to provide his family a better life. He was married to Olivia, and they were blessed with 3 sons: Neil, Aron, and Ryan. Lately, he enjoyed and proudly told the stories of his life, he touched so many lives - families and friends. He considered himself to be very fortunate for having a simple yet successful and satisfying life, especially for he was chosen to be baptized inside the IGLESIA NI CRISTO. He finished his race… ANTONIO CORPUZ TUGAOEN.The Joseph A. Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel is honored to assist the Tugaoen family with the arrangements. 954-438-8222
