Obituary of Fedele P. De Santis

Fedele Patrick “Sonny” DeSantis was born on June 18th, 1934 in Bellrose, New York to Antonio DeSantis and Vita Scarola DeSantis. Fedele grew up and attended school in Queens, New York. In May of 1951, at 17 years old, Fedele joined the U.S. Navy. He was stationed aboard the USS Melvin (DD-680 Fletcher class destroyer) during the Korean War. He served his country for four years and received an Honorable Discharge in 1954. Upon returning home he reunited with the love of his life, Rosemarie Palmeri. On December 11th, 1955, in Queens Village, Fedele and Rosemarie professed their love for one another in front of the Lord. To this union 6 children were born. Sonny was a skilled man, excelling at anything he put his mind to. He was a broker, contractor, real estate professional, an educated horticulturist, and an entrepreneur throughout the years. He even became President of the South Broward Board of Realtors in 1995. Sonny was a loved man. He touched every soul he met with his incredible spirit. He was known for his unwavering dedication to being honest and fair. He was one of the most charismatic men to ever walk this earth. His magnetic personality brought people from far and wide blossoming him a big family of friends and relatives. Sonny kept everyone close with his famous parties, holiday family gatherings, and yearly cruises. Sonny was peacefully called home on June 17th, 2022. Sonny was preceded in death by his Father Antonio DeSantis, Mother Vita Scarola DeSantis, his extraordinary Wife Rosemarie DeSantis, and Brother Joseph DeSantis. Sonny leaves to cherish his memories two sisters, Mary Emmerich (Jim), Antoinette Russel (Ralph), six children, Linda Cohen, Anthony DeSantis, Jackie Hunter, Robert DeSantis, Michael DeSantis, Fedele DeSantis, thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sonny and Rose were deeply in love. They dedicated their lives to each other through thick and thin, and now rest together in eternity.
