Obituary of Fred A. De Cicco

Fred De Cicco, 98 of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away on November 20, 2022. Born in Jersey City, NJ, Fred enlisted and served in World War II. He entered the United States Army at 18 years old. He landed on Utah Beach and was assigned to the AAF Service Squadron 372nd Air Service Group with campaigns throughout Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. After the war, Fred worked as a machinist at Peter J. Schweitzer Co. He later became an auto mechanic, specializing in ignition, brakes and air conditioning. He owned Fred’s Shell Service Station in West Carteret, NJ for 16 years, before moving to Pembroke Pines, Florida. There, he worked at Hollywood Shell for many years, as well as several years at Alpha Tire in Hollywood. Later retiring, Fred cared for his loving wife of 64 years. Fred had a passion for automobiles, especially Cadillacs. He loved mechanic work and always enjoyed giving a helping hand to those in need with car trouble. Fred loved the sun and enjoyed Sunday trips to Hollywood beach. He also loved watching drag racing and liked to fish and hunt. He was an avid sports fan and followed the Dolphins and Marlins. In his later years, he enjoyed classic movies. Fred is predeceased by his wife, Carmela Claire, his parents Olympia & Angelo, and his siblings, Helen, Sylvia, Henry, and Joseph. Surviving are his daughters, Claire Marie (Ken), Olympia and granddaughter, Rose Marie and many nieces and nephews.
