Obituary of Aida A. Diaz

Aida A. Diaz, better known to those closest to her as Nelly, 92, of Pembroke Pines, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26th in her home. Aida was born in Moca, Dominican Republic on March 23, 1930. She earned a degree in Philosophy in the Dominican Republic and moved to New York City in her late twenties where she met the love of her life, her late husband Efrian Soto.Aida (Nelly), owned a garment factory for many years in NYC before relocating to Puerto Rico with her husband and children where they owned a hardware store. She was a true businesswoman who loved gathering with friends and spending time with her family. She was a strong-willed woman who was focused on everything she accomplished. When she became a widow at 58 years old, she moved to Florida to be closer to her daughters. Her oldest daughter, Rosie preceded her in 2021. Aida was active, independent and always wore a smile. She will be remembered as the anchor of the family but most of all the Queen of her daughters. Aida is survived by her daughter Claribel Soto and granddaughters Melissa and Natalie, and her grandson Jose and great-grandson Alonso. In Repose Friday, December 2, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
