Michael Stanley Devnew, 65, of Cooper City, Florida and Marion, North Carolina, passed away on November 22, 2022 in North Carolina.
First Visitation Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Second Visitation Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Prayer Service 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. St. Mark Catholic Church following Entombment at 2:00 P.M. Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Funeral service will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5601 S. Flamingo Road, Southwest Ranches, Florida on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 11:30 AM with Reverend Paul VI Karenga of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S. State Road 7, North Lauderdale, FL. Visitation will be held at Scarano Funeral Home, 4351 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Florida, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
Micahel was born in Tampa, Florida to Frederic and Gladys Devnew on September 23, 1957. He went to high school at Jefferson High School in Tampa and graduated in 1975. He went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Marketing from the University of South Florida. Through the years, he worked as an independent sales representative for various companies and retired three years ago. Michael's passion was hunting, and he was living his best life, part time in his log cabin in North Carolina, with his wife Donna, amongst the woods and wildlife.
Michael is survived by his wife, Donna Devnew, step-son Jason Tully, father Frederic Devnew, brother Robert Devnew, sister Julie Reyna, step-sisters Gina
Dugger and Donna Tucker, step-brother Michael Mazella and sister-in-law Joanne Mazza-Wright. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and Little Red, his cat. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Hengel.
