Obituary of Victor P. Rivera Perez

Victor P. Rivera, 91, of Pembroke Pines, FL, passed away on 2/21/23 in Hollywood, FL. A military funeral service will be held at Lakeworth, FL Date and time to be set. Burial will follow at Lakeworth Veterans Cemetery. Victor was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico to Angel Rivera and Felicita Perez on March 18, 1931. At the age of 18, Victor proudly served in the armed services and fought in the Korean War. Following his time in the army, he completed his high school education and obtained his high school diploma. In 1955 he met the love of his life, Lydia Esther Rodriguez and they married in Corozal, Puerto Rico. Victor had 6 children, 5 of which were with Lydia. The 6 children are Ivette, Yvette, Doris, Victor, Wanda, and Shirlene. In 1957 he moved with his wife to Bronx, New York seeking a better future. For 30 years he worked for Triple A building trailer containers from the inside out. During this time he also studied air conditioning and refrigeration and obtained his license as an AC/Refrigeration engineer. After 30 years he retired. In 1977 he ventured to South Florida where he started his own business in air conditioning and refrigeration. Victor was very social and was always willing to help anyone in need with his handyman abilities. His home was always opened to family and friends. He and his wife enjoyed entertaining and hosting parties in their home. He was proceeded in death by his parents Angel and Felicita, his 2 sisters and 3 brothers, his wife Lydia, and daughter Doris. He is survived by his brother Felipe, his children Ivette, Yvette, Victor, Wanda, and Shirlene, grandchildren Victor Jr., Darah, Lazaro, Suzette, Nitchelle, Samantha, Julia, Julio, great-grandchildren Tatianna, Luis Zion, Zoe, Liam, and Jordan.
