So sad to hear about Mike. I think I met Mike in the 1980’s( maybe 90’s) when the FDOT bid lettings were in Tallahassee every month. It was Crazy, bidding contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers all night before the bid day.
Then, all that changed to electronic bidding so the all night visits stopped except when we, the suppliers, would have lunch dates at everyone’s offices.
The lunches and traveling slowly went away until the only time there were face to face meetings were at prebid meetings, one thing or another, or conferences, and that’s when I always saw Mike.
I will miss those times as Mike was the always the gentleman. ( but he did let me buy lunch, always!)
I will miss him and hope he wasn’t in pain when he died. RIP Mike.
