Obituary of Mickey Pacheco

Mick Pacheco, 65, of Pembroke Pines, passed away on April 9, 2023 in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Funeral services will be held at Scarano Pines Memorial Chapel on Friday April 14, 2023 from 2pm – 8pm with Apostle Jason Jackson of The Lion’s Den Missions Base officiating. Visitation will begin at 2pm with services and military honors beginning at 4pm. Mick was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 17, 1957. He served in the US Army enlisting in 1974 where he worked as a Medic. With a passion for numbers, he later pursued a career in residential lending and real estate investment. In his younger years, you could always find him on the baseball field playing third base or dancing the night away at The Loft in New York. He continued his love for baseball by coaching, umpiring, and mentoring in little league baseball even when he didn’t have a child playing. He was an active coach and volunteer at Pasadena Lakes Optimist where he later had the joy of coaching his grandsons. He was an active member of America Legion Post 92 with a heart for giving back to his fellow veterans. His philanthropic heart led him to be the founder of Thanks-Sal-Soul Giving, an annual event hosted on Veterans Day that brought together his love for Salsa dancing and feeding veterans for Thanksgiving. Mick is survived by his daughter and son-in-love, Andrew and Christina Ashby, his grandsons Dominick and Isaiah, his former wife Rosalina Pacheco, his brothers Albert and Pete Pacheco, his sisters Lisette Pacheco and Sylvia Arroyo, his mother Ruth Pacheco, his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews that all loved and adored him. He is preceded in death by his father Joe Pacheco and brother Ricardo Pacheco. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations so that we may bless the American Legion Post 92 in their philanthropic efforts.
